Jehanzeb Baldiwala (MA, Psychology)
Jehanzeb Baldiwala is a therapist, supervisor, trainer, and Co-Founder of Narrative Practices India, with over two decades of experience working with individuals, families, and children across a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and school-related difficulties.
She holds a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Mumbai and has built a distinguished career across India and the United States. Formerly Director of Mental Health Services and Head of Training at Ummeed Child Development Center, Mumbai (2004 to 2021), she also served as Director of Family Support and Social Rehabilitation Services at North East Community Center in Philadelphia, USA.
Jehanzeb brings her OCD experience into a narrative therapy framework, an approach that is non-blaming and focused on separating the person from the problem. This makes it a powerful complement to evidence-based OCD treatment, helping people reconnect with their values and identity beyond the condition.
As Co-Founder of Narrative Practices India, she has been instrumental in developing long and short-form training programmes in narrative practices alongside mentors Shona Russell, Maggie Carey, and Peggy Sax. She continues to facilitate training in narrative ideas and is visiting faculty for the Master's programme in Life Span Counselling at St. Xavier's University, Mumbai. She also mentors several organisational leaders including Apni Shala and Setco Foundation.
A published author and international conference speaker, Jehanzeb has contributed significantly to documenting narrative practice in the Indian context, with articles across peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Systemic Therapies and the Journal of Child Health Care.
